Motor Vehicles


Head Start ® of Muskegon/Oceana, a program of the MAISD, owns a 2006 Ford Freestyle minivan used to transport low income families to special activities and trainings required by the federal grant. Head Start ® staff use the minivan to travel to 15 sites in two counties for required program monitoring and support.

The MAISD owns a 1994, 1998 and 2002 Ford Econoline van to provide free courier service between school buildings to save public schools on postage and handling charges. Two of the three vans serve as maintenance vehicles as well.

The MAISD owns a 1996 Chevy GMT-400 pickup truck to transport large packages, supplies, paper, and other maintenance equipment and materials between the MAISD Administration Building, Muskegon Area Career Tech Center, Wesley School, MAISD Regional Mathematics & Science Center, and Community Based Transition Classrooms.

The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center owns a 1993 Mercury Villager, a 1986 Ford Escort, a 1994 Toyota Corrolla, a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix, and a 2000 Ford Focus that are used for instruction by the Auto Body Technology program. The Center also owns a 2008 Chevy Pickup for plowing and maintenance purposes.
