Adult Education Programs at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center

Linked Muskegon is a collaboration between Adult Education programs within Muskegon County, West Michigan Works!, the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (MACTC), and local employers. Students will be dually enrolled in adult education programming along with a technical course at the MACTC.

Through coursework in both programs, and with the help of West Michigan Works!, these students will complete their high school diploma requirements or receive a GED, gain specific manufacturing skills sought by local employers, and increase their employability skills through Workplace Excellence curriculum. Successful students will have opportunities for paid internships through local employers. Employers: Join us on January 26, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. to meet workers ready for hire!

Machining

Linked Muskegon Machining Program IconThis 18-week program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center located at 200 Harvey Street, on the corner of Harvey and Stebbins, in Muskegon.

Tasks covered include– general shop safety, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, saws, lathe, mill, and CNC machining.


Welding

Linked Muskegon Welding Program IconThis 18-week program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center located at 200 Harvey Street, on the corner of Harvey and Stebbins, in Muskegon.

Tasks covered include– general shop safety, measuring tools, hand tools, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and oxy-fuel and plasma cutting.
