Adult Education Programs at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center

Linked Muskegon is a FREE, 18-week adult education and training program developed to meet the need for skilled workers in today’s work-place environment.  The program is a collaboration between local employers, adult education programs, the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center, and West Michigan Works!

Linked Muskegon offers a direct path to job skills, a high school diploma or GED, and an entry level position within the local manufacturing or health industry. Students will not only receive hands-on training on the most current high-tech equipment,  but will also develop employability skills like communication, professionalism, and dependability. Those who successfully complete the program will meet face-to-face with employers who are eager to hire!

Machining

Linked Muskegon Machining Program IconThis 18-week program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center located at 200 Harvey Street, on the corner of Harvey and Stebbins, in Muskegon.

Tasks covered include– general shop safety, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, saws, lathe, mill, and CNC machining.


Welding

Linked Muskegon Welding Program IconThis 18-week program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center located at 200 Harvey Street, on the corner of Harvey and Stebbins, in Muskegon.

Tasks covered include– general shop safety, measuring tools, hand tools, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and oxy-fuel and plasma cutting.


Health

This 18-week program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center located at 200 Harvey Street, on the corner of Harvey and Stebbins, in Muskegon.

Course objectives include developing safe work habits and attitudes for the healthcare environment, completing basic healthcare skills, and developing an understanding of basic computer skills used in healthcare.
