Course Description:

Auto body technology is growing and changing at a rapid pace. Instruction is set up with a balance of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on teaching. This National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified course prepares individuals to apply basic technical knowledge and skill in the following competence areas: 1) Safety & Maintenance 2) Damage Analysis & Cost Estimates 3) Disassemble & Assemble Parts 4) Non-Structural Repairs 5) Metal, Plastic, And Fiberglass Repairs And 6) Paint And Refinishing Techniques. Mechanic Certification testing is available.

Students may take the State of Michigan certification tests.

Customer service work is scheduled into the curriculum.

The program prepares students to specialize in the Automotive or Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology programs.

Work-based learning opportunities are available for qualified students.

Articulated college credit is available through Baker College and Davenport University.
