Course Description:
In conjunction with Muskegon Habitat For Humanity, students build a house from site preparation to completion. Learn to use the tools, equipment, and technology as it applies to excavating, pouring footings, laying blocks, framing, roofing, pouring & finishing concrete, siding, heating & ductwork, wiring, plumbing, painting, cabinet installation, countertop laminating, deck construction, brickwork and finish carpentry for a house. Safety is emphasized as well as blueprint reading and building codes. Good paying jobs can be found in almost any area of the construction industry. Prior coursework in architectural drawing and industrial arts is helpful and basic measurement math skills are needed.
