Course Description:

Students who enroll in the Accounting/Financial Management program will develop skills that are important to all business and financial positions, including personal finance. Students train on the most up-to-date equipment in a setting that simulates a business office.

You will understand how business works because accounting is the study of how businesses track their income and assets over time. You will understand the business/financial terms you may hear on the news, read in the newspaper and understand when you work for a company. You will learn calculating, single-ownership accounting, corporate accounting, payroll, computer applications and Internet applications. You will also solve 'real' business problems as a part of the course of study. You will understand what it takes to buy a home, buy car and insurance, invest in the stock market, buy on credit, conduct banking transactions, apply for a job, pay taxes and prepare yourself for being independent and knowledgeable in the world of business.
