Course Description:

Get the knowledge and develop the skills you need to install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems while using the equipment utilized by industry trainers on the actual job. Information on scientific principles of heat transfer, electrical, ventilation, hydronics, and control systems is basic to the HVAC program. In addition, students will learn about environmental rules and regulations, read blueprints, and demonstrate the basic skills required to install residential and light commericial systems.

Special Features of the Program:

 

In HVAC/R you will learn how to install HVAC/R equipment such as air conditioning units and heating systems. You will also learn about piping systems, fabrication, and installation as well as how to trouble shoot systems using meters and wiring diagrams. In addition, you can apply what you learn in the classroom by working side-by-side with Construction Trades students helping to build a home for Habitat for Humanity.
