As a Medical Assistant student you will learn to provide medical care to patients, aid physicians with examining patients, and assist in office management. After successfully completing the theory and classroom instruction you will participate in a clinical work experience at a local health care provider’s office. Upon completion of the class, students will be eligible to take a written and clinical skills test for certification as a medical assistant. As a second-year student you will receive advanced training in anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, and advanced patient care skills such as phlebotomy, injections, and sterile techniques.
Articulated credit is also available to qualified students through Baker College, Davenport University, Ferris State University, or Grand Rapids Community College.
Direct college credit is available with Muskegon Community College.
