Departments
The MAISD is organized into seven primary service departments.
Administration
oversees and coordinates the delivery of high quality programs and services that local districts have come to expect while striving for continued improvement and customer satisfaction.
Business & Finance
provides a range of direct assistance to local school districts and offers regulatory and auditing functions involving required State reporting, pupil attendance & accounting, truancy, transportation and school lunch.
Career & Technical Education
assists local Muskegon and Oceana school districts in planning and implementing quality career and technical education. Leads the delivery of programs for the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center (CTC).
Early Childhood Education
leads and champions a collaborative effort in Early Childhood Education focused on children from birth to eight years of age and their families in order to establish a strong foundation for school success.
Instructional Services
provides a broad range of services and activities designed to enable and assist local school districts in the areas of instruction, curriculum, assessment, school improvement, and professional development.
Technology Services
provides on-line resources, technical assistance, and training for both administrative and instructional applications to school agencies throughout West Michigan.
Special Education
seeks to attain substantial and meaningful improvement in a variety of domains for children/students with challenging abilities, ages pre-natal through 25 years. Programs and services are provided within a collaborative
special education service delivery model including the
operation of Wesley School.
