Business Connection
The Great Start Collaborative of Muskegon County needs active members who are:
- Decision Makers
- Change Agents
- Visionaries
- Promoters and supporters of our virtual, never-ending, sustainable process.
Research tells us there is an 7-17% return on the community investment with the establishment of voluntary, universal preschool, quality child care, and support of parents.
This investment results in young adults who:
- Graduate from high school
- Many go on to college
- Get jobs and keep jobs
- Buy homes
- Pay taxes
- Are less likely to engage in crime
- Are less likely to engage in spouse/child abuse
Planning for the future of our children now and making the investment in preschool and child care programs will realize the immediate gain of better work attendance and quality of work performance by the parents of these children.
We urge the Muskegon business community to join the Great Start effort by:
- Understanding the issue
- Supporting the initiative
- Assisting with the development of a long-term strategic plan for Muskegon
