Education and Development

The Head Start day is three and a half hours which includes structured times as well as less structured times for the children to explore the materials in the classroom. The day is filled with stories, activities, work times, meals and music and movement. The Child Observation Record (COR) is an assessment tool used to determine what level the children are at in their development and education. The classroom staff uses the information gathered with the COR to individualize activities with each child throughout the program year.
