Nutrition Education

Once a week the children participate in a food experience where they are learning about new foods. The children are involved in preparing the given foods/experience for the day. The food experience is tied to other activities throughout the whole day so they are learning about different foods in a variety of ways. A registered dietician is available to work with parents on nutrition education at home as well as with staff in the school.

Through a special partnership with the Women Infants and Children(WIC) program, each child will receive a nutritional assessment that will help the family to impact the nutrition of their child at home and at school. Literature is given to educate families about proper nutrition, and provide suggestions for activities they can do to improve the overall nutritional health of their families.
