Parent Involvement

Parent Meetings

Each Head Start Classroom has monthly parent meetings where any parent is welcome to attend. Topics at these meetings include daily classroom operations, field trips, family events and other important information about the program.

Policy Committee

Each Head Start delegate school district has a policy committee that consists of parents and local community members. The goal of the policy committee is to review policy and procedures and make decisions that affect the operation of the delegate school district. The Policy Committee meets monthly.

Policy Council

The Policy Council is a critical governing body that oversees the Head Start program. The Policy Council consists of policy committee members that have been elected to sit on the grantee policy council as well as local community members. The Policy Council is responsible for making decisions that impact the direction of the Head Start program. The Policy Council meets monthly.
