The Midwest World Fest (formerly the Mid East/West Fest) is a global arts and education and outreach performing arts program designed to provide inspiring arts enrichment while it instills appreciation for diversity and encourages acceptance of others and their cultures.

The program objectives of the Midwest World Fest are to:

  •  Present high-caliber accessible international artists to local communities, and young people in particular, for a multifaceted, lasting experience;
  • Integrate art into a broader social, cultural, political and historical framework; and
  • Encourage communities to explore issues and concerns of diverse cultures.

In connecting students with unique cultures from major world groups, as well as new ethnic and immigrant populations in the Midwest, the Midwest World Fest aims to broaden communities positive exposure to different cultures, help them to recognize and respect differences and similarities between themselves and persons of other cultures, and strengthen their own cultural identity.
