Literacy Programs offered at MAISD

Playful Literacy and You!

PlayThe three goals of PLaY are to increase:

  • 0 to 5 age children's chances for success with literacy and future learning,
  • early childhood professionals' knowledge in the area of early literacy development,
  • and families' understanding and support of the emerging literacy process.

Training includes exploration of key literacy components: oral and written language, phonological awareness, and parent support; suggestions for use of relevant and age appropriate elements of Michigan Literacy Progress Profile (MLPP); and materials.
