Constitution Day

Constitution Day will be celebrated nationwide on September 17, 2008. All schools and federal agencies receiving federal funds are required to hold educational programming pertaining to the United States Constitution in observance of this day.

Of course, civic education should be happening everyday.  America’s founders believed that our republic would survive only if citizens were educated about it. In an increasingly diverse society, our national identity is shaped by the common values that are at the core of civic education, values like justice, equality and respect for the rule of law.  These lessons help students understand those values and more on Constitution day and any other day!
