Muskegon County Juvenile Transition Center
The Muskegon County Juvenile Transition Center (MCJTC) is a secure co-educational child caring institution which functions under the auspices of the Muskegon County Department of Community Corrections. Youth ages 8-17 are referred to the Center by Family Court or one of its designees. Only youth who are accused of or adjudicated for law violations are placed in detention. The MCJTC recently relocated its facility from Whitehall to Muskegon, raising the number of beds from 22 to 32. During their time in residence at the MCJTC, students take part in a comprehensive educational program operated by the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District (MAISD).
