Supporting student engagement and authentic learning, the STEM PBL Academy strives to support teachers implement high-quality, project-based learning experiences within their classroom
Intended Outcomes of Service:
- Teachers will gain an understanding of the elements of high-quality project-based learning and attain instructional practices that support this vision.
- Students will experience authentic standards-based learning experiences that allow for student voice and choice, feedback loops, and reflection.
Examples of Service:
- Supporting teachers in enacting a PBL classroom practice - such as a driving question board
- Planning and supporting the implementation of a project-based learning experience within classrooms
- Aiding a school in designing and executing project-based learning related courses
Intended Audiences:
- Individual or group classroom teachers (grade level, department, etc.)
- School building or district administrator
- School building or district leadership team
- Entire school building or district
Delivery Methods:
- Small group meeting facilitation
- Small and large group PBL trainings
- Classroom observations and coaching
- Modeling instructional practices within the classroom
- Individual and small group student support
- Collaboration with administrators or building leadership teams
- Assist building and district level teams as a content expert
- Small group planning with a teacher(s)
- 1:1 consultation - phone, e-mail, in-person
- Analyzing data with a teacher(s) or leadership team
- Coordinating an event, activity, or collaboration
