Learning Objectives:

  • Students will develop their creativity
  • Students will learn to design their own unique eyewear

Materials:

  • Sunglasses
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Washi tape
  • Strong glue
  • Jewels and glitter
  • Paper and pencil

Tools:

  • Glue gun (optional)

Steps:

  1. Plan Your Project : Choose a pair of sunglasses to decorate. In your sketchbook, draw your design. Make notes of all the details, such as shapes, colors, and sparkles.

  2. Add some ears or another fun shape. Use the pipe cleaner to create cool shapes. Then use tape on the sides and in the center to attach them.

  3. Stick on jewels. Embellish your sunglasses by gluing on the jewels or pearls. Space them out as evenly as you can.

  4. Finishing touches. Make your glasses pop by adding a few finishing touches. Try different patterned tape or paint with glitter.

Tip: Protect your glasses with a case. Cut a rectangle of thick fabric, like felt, that is twice the size of your frames. Fold it in half, then sew up the long side and one of the ends. Slide in your shades.
